Simul8 Language Settings (Localization)
Simul8 is now available in eight languages: English (US), French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.
You will need Simul8 Version 32 Build 4844 or later to access the language options.
Setting Language During Installation
The language can be set by selecting the relevant option in the installation wizard. This can be changed after installation is complete.
Setting Language in Simul8 Desktop
The language can be set by going to File > Preference > Language tab. Simul8 will need to be restarted for changes to take effect.
Windows Regional Settings
For the language settings in Simul8 to take effect, the chosen language must match the language set in the Windows Regional Settings. If the languages do not match, Simul8 will default back to English and display a notification next time it is launched.
To set the regional language settings in Windows, navigate to Control Panel > Clock and Region > Region > Administrative tab and change the ‘Language for non-Unicode programs’ to your desired option. Ensure the option ‘Beta: Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support’ is unchecked.
Admin rights are required to make these changes, and the system will need to be rebooted for the changes to take effect. You can then choose your language in Simul8 to match the language set in the regional Windows settings.
Setting Language in Simul8 Online
When using Simul8 Online, the account screens will be translated but the user interface is currently only available in English.
The language can be set by selecting from the drop-down options at the bottom of all account pages.
Things to note:
• Version Control and Experiment Builder are only available when the language is set to English.
• Visual Logic descriptions will be translated but the commands themselves must be written in English.
