Templates - Order System

This template is a simulation of an order fulfillment system, where orders for 3 types of part (A, B, and C) are dealt with.

Orders enter and are generally for a mixture of parts. The order generates a signal to the warehouse to prepare the right quantity of each part. When all the parts are ready they are matched up with the order and sent to dispatch.

You can change virtually every parameter in the simulation through a spreadsheet. The spreadsheet can be opened through the Change Data menu item.

There are 3 part types that can be ordered:
Type A - parts are produced to stock. There is a constant flow of parts feeding a store.
Type B - parts are produced when the quantity in stock falls below the reorder level, set through the spreadsheet.
Type C - parts are produced upon demand, so whenever an order is received.

The objective is to fulfill orders within a reasonable time. Simple results are reported on screen, to show success in achievement of this.
