Visual8 - Introductory Course Overview
This 2-day course is highly interactive and practical - just the job when you want to get up to speed with SIMUL8 quickly. Class size is kept small to ensure individual attention and lots of hands-on experience.
Visual8 provide an optional 3rd training day. This allows you to spend time with your trainers to learn how to apply SIMUL8 to your specific problem and review the course material and its application to your simulation needs.
Pre-Course Requirements
The only prerequisite for attending this training course is that you must have some PC Knowledge. Using files, directories, mouse and basic keyboard skills.
Course Outline
The live course agenda includes both lectures and hands-on case studies in which students create sample models.
Day 1:
 Review of Fundamental Simulation Objects
- System Set-Up
- SIMUL8 Clock
- Work Entry Points, Storage Queues, Work Centers, Work Items, Conveyors, Work Exit Points
A more in-depth review of SIMUL8 Constructs
- Named Distributions (arrival / process sampling / user defined)
- Work Items what they are and the use of Labels
- Routing Work In and Out of a Work Center
- Use of Work Centers 'Label Actions' to set Label values
Day 2:
Review of SIMUL8 Constructs (cont.)
- Steps to Building a Simulation Model
- Resource Types, Resource Pools
- Shift Patterns
- Resource Uses: priority, model controls
- SIMUL8 Reliability Constructs (Equipment Failures and Repair Times)
Introduction to Excel, Visual Logic and Information Store linkages
- Importing/Exporting Data from Excel
- Setting up conditional control statements
- Setting Job Routings
- Examining Queue size and content
- Global Controls
Day 3 (Optional):
- Learn how to apply SIMUL8 to your specific problem.
- Review the course material and its application to your simulation needs.

Cost
The cost for the 2 day training course is $995 per delegate.
