Training and Development
SIMUL8 Corporation has a huge focus on personal development. During my first few weeks I attended several training courses all of which contributed to preparing me for my tasks and responsibilities. As well as full induction training SIMUL8 supported and encouraged me to attend several subsequent training courses to further enhance my skills and capabilities. Furthermore SIMUL8 has a team working culture that involves the interaction of all its staff members engaging with each other constantly. When I started within the company I spent time with every team to understand its structure but also to develop relationships with my colleagues. This has proved very successful and this and SIMUL8's 'open door' policy allows me to consult and interact with other employees in the company should I require assistance.
Typical Day
Everyday is different and involves interaction with contacts ranging from Small to Medium size enterprises right through to large Multi-National companies to introduce them to simulation and our different products. A typical day is hard to describe, however involves following up leads from our online sales desk; and hosting live WebEx presentations to potential customers presenting the software's capabilities. Due to the diverse customer base, each demonstration must be tailored to that particular customer, which makes the job even more interesting and the personal satisfaction of a successful sale even higher. Being part of an innovative and young company we are always exploring new methods of working, so continuous improvement is paramount and the creation of new ways of working is a big part of my role too. Furthermore I can really see my contribution to the running of SIMUL8 Corporation, with my input and ideas being valued across the board, not just within my team.
